  1. I just started getting the same 2 fault codes in my 2017 Silverado 6.2 8 speed. Wonder if mine will be covered under this tsb? Even though it says it's only for 2016s I took delivery of my truck August 1st of 2016.
  2. This is the kit I used to keep the dust out of my bed during hunting season. https://www.accesscover.com/access-total-bed-seal/ It works pretty good. The tailgate seal alone didn't keep the dust out. The foam blocks in this kit helped a ton. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  3. So I eneded up getting it wrapped again. Got inspiration from a Google search pic that I included in this post. Pretty sure the owner is a member of the forum. Went wider with the stripes and to the edge of the hood. I think it turned out great. I also had the hood ceramic coated so they say it should last up to 4-5 yrs now. 4. Took the wrap off my hood because it started to deteriorate. Lasted about 2.5 yrs in the Texas Sun. I'm not a fan of the all white. It doesn't show off the curves of the hood very well.... Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  5. I had an opposite effect when I adding a leaf to my 7 inch lift to get some rake back. Made it seem stiffer. Just taller blocks rode better. The extra leaf was cheaper than blocks. I could see the install costing more though because its a pain to do. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  6. Double check your wiring. Same thing happened to me. I emailed rigid and they sent me an rma # to send them back in. When I went to take them out I double checked my wiring. I must have forgotten how lazy I was when I installed them because I used butt connectors and was going to soder later. Turns out that one of my grounds was bad. Rewired everything with soder and heat shrink. They work great again. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  7. They say they have a lifetime warranty. I ordered directly from Kryptonite so they shouldn't question it. It's been a year so far and no slop in the ball joints. The cognito ones failed within 6 months. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  8. Readylift 7 inch. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  9. I have Cognito UCAs and the ball joints wore out. I ended up replacing them with a set of Kryptonite ball joints. I haven't had any issues with them and they have a lifetime warranty. Kryptonite didn't have UCAs for 1500s when I got my Cognitos. If they did I would have gone with them. Its nice to see them offer more for the 1500s. I'll probably end up getting a set of their tie rod ends. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  10. I took the grill off. The grill has a plastic shroud that goes around it. It comes out with the grill when you take the grill off. I mounted it directly to the bottom of that shroud. I didn't take any pics but TXGREEK has pics of it in his original post. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  11. Got it off Amazon. It doesn't come with a wiring harness, but I got one off Amazon also. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks man. I got the bar on Amazon. I forgot to add that the lightbar doesn't come with a wiring harness or switch. I just ordered a harness off Amazon also. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  13. Finished installing my lightbar today. Same 31" bar that TXGREEK installed on a gmc. I installed it with the mounts that came with it, but the bar ened up being a little too high. I just drilled 2 new holes and now it sits perfectly. Unless you're looking for it, you can barely see the bar behind the grill. It also clears the active shutters perfectly. Looking forward to testing it out tonight. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  14. I ended up buying one as a Christmas present for myself. Once I get it installed I'll post some pics of how it looks in a Silverado grill. I'm sure I'll have to adjust the angle depending on how the light output is. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  15. I appreciate it. Looks like I'll be ordering one. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  16. Did you ever get any pics of the light output? I'm about to buy one. Just want to get an idea how much light it will throw. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks for the pic. It looks like it may be just a little bigger than the gap on the silverado grill, but it should still work. Do you have any pics of the light output at night? Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  18. I really like that setup. I wonder if the spacing in the bottom of the GMC grill is the same as the Silverado. Would you mind measuring the width when you get a chance? My silverado grill is 1 inch. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  19. I'm not sure what exactly Blackbear tunes in the tcm but the random hard shifts are gone. Jerkiness is gone, I'll still get a random clunk maybe once a month if that. It's pretty rare though. Probably best mod I've done to the truck as far as drivability besides fixing the gas pedal flex. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  20. 17 and up are locked by gm. You can have them unlocked by either sending them into hp tuners or buying an unlocked one directly from hp tuners. That's the expensive route. I found a used a tcm from a 2016 Escalade that's also a 6.2 8 speed. That tcm worked in my truck and blackbear was able to tune it. There has been other people that have tried the same thing and it wouldn't work. Blackbear doesn't know why it works for some and not others. That's why they dont advertise that specific service for 2017+. If it wouldn't have worked I would have gone the hp tuners route. I can't believe that gm wont fix the tuning but I can have someone fix it with efi live or hp tuners. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  21. I honestly think the only way around the 8 speed problems is to get the trans tuned. I've had all the updates done at the dealer as far as gm tuning. I've also had the new fluid installed. It all helped but the kept acting up. I've had my tune for around 7k miles and it's great. I took my truck into the dealer about a month ago to have a recall done. Before I brought it in I took out my tuned tcm and put the stock tcm back in. I also flashed my truck back to stock. It was a night and day difference. Trans went back to being miserable to drive. As soon as I got the truck back I swapped my tcms and flashed the tune again. It's so much better. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  22. Where are you at in Texas? I'm in the Houston area and on my way to work this morning the North wind was brutal. Gusting at 21 mph. It was the 1st time I've even noticed wind noise coming from my A-pillar lights and it was LOUD. Definitely made me reconsider mounting a light bar behind my grill and getting rid of the A-pillar lights. Driving into a N wind gusting 21 mph will make a huge difference in your mpgs. 23. I honestly have no idea. Maybe the seal gets bad, or the grease wears out and let's motor noise transfer into the cab? After reading a ton of posts with people saying it fixed there noise for $35 I said why not. I was sceptical but it actually worked. I've been hearing that damn ticking during acceleration for 3 yrs. Took it to the dealer twice and they said it was normal. Now its fixed. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  24. Yeah I took about 30 mins to install. 1 15mm bolt on the steering shaft. Remove that bolt and push the shaft up to separate it from the gearbox. Then remove the 3 10mm nuts that hold the boot to the firewall. Thanks. It's a 7" readylift. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  25. I think it was $35 at the dealer. Amazon has them for $34. Part # is 2581560. They have white lithium grease in them already but I added more since that's what everyone else is doing during the install. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
