  1. Did a little work on the truck today/yesterday. Did everything the hard way.. learned to do it the right way in the process. Next time will be much easier.
  2. Was just told part number 23466980 was on permanent backorder with no ETA. This is the 3rd part number for the console I have tried. This is infuriating. The upper trim and side panels have already arrived. WHY DO THEY KEEP DOING THIS??
  3. Hey Yall, I'm so glad I found this thread. Can anyone tell me if the RAP is 12v? Is it fused? If so where? Whats the amperage? What about the 12v constant? (same questions.) Do I need a special tool to put the lead into the connector? This looks like its designated as connector X7 on the junction block (x61.) According to this pinout 11 is not a ground but "run/crank ignition 1 voltage." Is that an odd way of saying ground? Pinout 10 is indeed ground and all the other pins cited appear to be correct. I just dont know where the power is coming from (yet.)
  4. Started working on my ~88 club car DS electric golf cart. Had it since 93. My parents used to own a bunch of land. They sold it about 5 years ago now and the carts been in storage ever since. Time has not been kind. Thank goodness for aluminum frames. got a new set of us battery 6vs ready to go in, but I need a new jumper wire and all new studs for the hold downs. (and I probably need to clean the frame a bit more)
  5. got 23466980 on order with the other parts mentioned above. Folks at GMPD said the reason for the PN changes are that minor changes are being made to the console. It could be anything from having a larger clip to using a different dye manufacturer to moving the wire harness slightly in one direction. Any time a change is made to the part the PN changes. My best guess in this case? They're probably sourcing cheaper parts or they're fixing rattles. You know how GM does it.. they make something for like 10 years and continually massage it until its closer to "perfect." Then the change it entirely and start the process all over again.
  6. I just tried to order a center console. I ordered 23466995 and was told it is permanently out of stock. The other PNs I tried to order with it were: 22776807 22817347 22817349 22995086 I have black interior with "synthesis" (plain silver) trim. I inquired again about the console and was told the PN I actually needed was 23466980. Currently checking availability on this part. Has anyone ordered with 23466980? Is it the same as 23466995? Why is GM changing PNs?
  7. This is still on my to-do list. I have katskinz black leather in my truck. Would that be the "jet black" interior in my case for the console? It matches the door panels perfectly and looks stock but for the brand tag on the seat when you get in. I THINK I have synthesis trim in my truck as well, its just a base LT, plain silver plastic, its not carbon fiber look or anything like that. I may be doing this swap when I'm done with my foglight install in the next couple weeks.
  8. I just did a higway trip, about 150 miles cruising ~78mph, BEST I could get was 20.9, average was 20.4. This is on a '14 5.3 w 3.08s. Truck gets 18.9 effortlessly in the city. Yet barely peaks 20mpg on the interstate.
  9. Hey guys, thuis may have been addressed (in this very thread) but I can't seem to locate it. We're up to 30 pages now so.. Anyway, I just put a set of 6" chrome steps on my crew, bought em off a guy who had them installed by the dealer. It came with 16 bolts, and 4 cage nut/clips. The front 4 holes horizontal and vertical are threaded on each side, the back horizontals are not, nor is the verticals. You acn use the clips on the verticals, but there's nothing to use in the horizontals in the rear?? I have 4 bolts left over and I'm nervous about heavy passenger getting into the rear of my truck. What do?
  10. "Lets stop selling cars with tires already on them!" but seriously.. remember under hood lights? They get deleted in every body style. I dont know if my 14 even has one. The only time I've seen things get BEEFIER in GM trucks was between the 67-72s where the frame components became thicker and thicker as time went on.
  11. That's what I'm starting to believe.. I have a little bit of rust around the rear of my leaf springs, not as bad as this, but it's still there. My truck's used sure but.. it was not towed with (it didn't have a towball or any towing package on it) so unless they just parked it 3/4 of the way in a lake for the last year the rust thats on it for a GA truck must mean that its a manufacturer issue. I also had an issue with my tailgate dragging on the bed side because the bed was built out of spec (as best as we can tell.) I fixed it myself with a rubber hammer and a block of wood. I just hope the important things have better QC. engine, transmission, tcase, brakes, fuel, etc.
  12. (this is from last week.) I broke her This exhaust is 40 years old, so I'm not surprised. The rubber hangers were dryrotted but apparently recently they broke, so.. backing it in, had to get a running start cos of this lip and an open diff.. it hooked the U bolts.. tore it right up. Had to cut it off with a sawzall. She's open pipe now on this side. I'll have to trailer it to a shop in the near future I guess.
  13. Got my Chrome trim, mirror caps and door handles on today! Totally changes the look of the truck imo. (an improvement. Yall may not agree tho.)
  14. Got my workbench delivered! (Gray in the corner) Got some nails in the walls to mount my extension cords, creeper, got my paint board up and started painting an old chain with some engine enamel thats been in storage for me for the last 2 years. It's good to have a shop again!
  15. How do you get the stitching on the dash? Are certain models leather wrapped? Looks good! I'd like white on mine.
  16. about 21k miles on my '14 5.3 4x4 LT CC Best mileage I've been able to get so far (I've only had it 1000 miles) is 20.9. Average is 18.9. I run 87 octane and do a lot of back roads and interstate driving, stop n go has been minimal since I've owned it.
  17. Atlanta area. As landlocked as can be in GA. I took another look, I can't find it now, maybe it was on that 2013 I was looking at before I bought this one.

  19. My truck has some rust on the frame and its a GA truck. Should I be concerned? You remember what happened to the 73-~84s with rust..

  21. Ya know what's odd is even though my dipstick is nearly dry and I have valves ticking from lack of lubrication.. I've never once seen this "low oil light" that I've heard mentioned. I know on my camaro there's a sensor in the oil pan, I'm assuming on the truck it'd be the same kind of thing? a sensor in the lower end of the pan? I wonder why I'm having valve noise yet still having enough for this sensor to read that it's not low on oil?
  22. I tried to go today. After waiting in line 20 minutes to get into the service bay I decided to turn around. what is wrong with GM lately? too many chinese parts? I used to never have this problem. tbh at this point I'm just trying to get my project car running good enough to drive it. I feel like my truck isn't reliable anymore. A new vehicle should not drink oil like an alcoholic on a free tab.
  23. I've had to put 2 qts in it since december. appx. 6k miles in that time span. Truck has 12k miles on it. 2010, 5.3 it "runs out" and I start getting valve tick. very angry about this, but I don't know what I can do about it other than take it to the dealer and hear the "it aint doin it right now" story.
  24. Bad encoder motor... the 1st time 4wd was ever used it broke.. wtf? am I gonna need a $900 part every time I use my 4wd? they got it resolved quickly. I haven't tested 4wd but the error is gone at least.
  25. There's no codes.. he's "tracing wire harnesses" according to the tech.. I told them there's a TSB on the switch, he acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. I've had this truck 27 days...
