  1. They are just the middle man for ADD (gogoautoshop). My W1 is in the mail
  2. Somebody is gonna figure this out and be the hero here!
  3. Good to know. 1500 miles and no issues so far knock on wood.
  4. The reason I ask is due to content laws maybe the Canadian built parts for these trucks here aren't having the same issues. Just spitballing here guys
  5. Silly question but any Canadians having this issue?
  6. When the diehards figure it out and solve these problems for everyone if this is the worst thing that happens in 100000 miles I will continue to purchase gm products. 6 people at work have gm products and don't have this issue
  7. Awesome
  8. Anybody have chrome plastic clad wheels that this is happening to? Steel wheels? Anybody tried slamming their truck or extending the air dam down? Perhaps it is air velocity related? I don't have it but am interested in what people have tried. Things i've seen so far: Drive shafts, ring gears, differentials, wheels, tires, body mounts, motor mounts, tranny mounts. Things i have not seen: transfer cases, cv shafts, transfer case drive shaft, bearing hubs. not much left after these components is there? My condolences to those with this issue.
  9. okay guys, i tried to pick up what you were laying down regarding vibrations (made it back to page 470 LOL) how bad is this vibe? in the steering wheel? in the floor boards? i just bought a 2016 and it rides quite well, small vibe in v4 but, i figured it was a result of the v4 mode and the borla exhaust. Is this vibration really really noticeable? i obviously don't have it but, am concerned it is an issue. And not confused with the buffeting experienced when you roll down the rear windows lol
  10. Looks like a BG style cleaning every so often (15k) is warranted anyways. I pity the guy down the hall from me that has 50k miles on his silverado and these things don't even ponder with him. He's a 3-4 year turn and burn guy anyway LOL
  11. How often are you guys emptying these ADD W1's? each fill up? more? less? Did anyone mod theirs beyond scotchbrite in the baffle?
  12. Physics forums: Water does a nice job decarboning the piston/cylinder area but has virtually no effect on the intake side of the intake valve or EGR passages and that is where the majority of carbon build up happens. This is much more of a problem in direct injection engines. The PCV system functions to recycle combustion blow-by through the intake. It builds up on the intake valve where the venture effect causes low pressure and the combustion contaminants condense out and adhere to the valve head. This requires chemical or mechanical removal and can not be removed with water. You can decarbon part of your engine with water, but you are treating the part of the engine least affected by carbon buildup. 13. i just figured water droplets rushing in to a 350 degree valve (assumption on temp as i know the valves are hotter than the coolant.) would turn the droplets into steam just as they were approaching the valve. I'm not an engineer so this is pure speculation.
  14. What ever happened to the old days of sucking water into the intake via manifold vacuum and steam cleaning the valves? Those days were awesome!
  15. Not doubting the effectiveness of this can at all. As a matter of fact it looks very well engineered. But with the CDN dollar in the crapper, this is an almost $500 dollar part. Put straight pipes on it and use a crankcase evacuation kit! LOL
  16. I would think we should be checking the media for buildup but, since it doesn't see the heat the back of the valves do i can't see the oil and water bonding to the media very much. A check once in a while is just good maintenance
  17. Not that the E2-X isn't but, it looks like the ADD W1 is fully serviceable and it appears guys have had great success with them. At only 1500 miles and a CRC/Seafoam regimen is still recommended, the ADD looks like a inexpensive alternative to the E2-X. Do you guys cut the existing pcv connectors off of the factory pcv tube and reuse them for the catch can?
  18. the catch can tube to the intake also provides a nice easy access to suck seafoam in too! should you choose to do that. The ADD W1 seems to be popular as well or a baffelled Mishimoto
  19. Understood. I didn't explain very well the manny vs ported thing. Since the TB is a throttle plate, as in a carb, "ported" vac would come from the front of the TB (air filter side) and manifold vac would come from the rear or manifold side. So i guess this is why the dual is essentially hooked up to either side of the TB. I will put a catch can on at some point soon but when you lay down as much money as you did on your first house, money gets scarce. And 500 CDN for an EE catch can is way out of my league. Mishimoto or ADD appear to have something closer to the available funds lol. Heck, i guess if you had to, a diy unit with the wifes stainless pot scrubbers would work right?
  20. I have a good understanding of pvc system, I just wondered why in an application like this you would need a manifold and ported vac catch can unless you were wot all of the time. I do agree that a dual makes no sense unless you wanted to pick up the other 1% of the oil and vapour lost during wot. My 64 came with a factory vac gauge and the only time there is no vac in the manifold is at wot. Even at 90% there is 5inches.
  21. What's wrong with using a air compressor ail/water separator? Isn't that wher the technology was born from?
  22. Does it matter if there is little vacuum at WOT? and on the new trucks is the pcv connected to manifold vacuum or ported vacuum? Edit: I see it now, the factory PCV is connected to the manifold and the second line is connected in front of the throttle body for a ported vacuum source. Does seem like the TB will suck from the path of least resistance and pull most of it's air through the intake filter Just trying to understand why you need dual inlet.
  23. I had GM put the Borla on before i picked up the truck. Not insanely loud but nice rumble.
  24. Is it strange my truck had 500 miles on it and i contacted BB? LOL. The 08 sierra i had shifted real nice after the BB tune. It ran 170,000 miles with the same tune it. Now, BB is waiting on the ECM tuneability (TCM is available)for the 2016 but, living in Canada, perhaps the flash counter may be an issue as i don't know if they have to prove anything to void the warranty and with 99,000 miles of warranty left i am not sure i want to screw that up. Looks like a few others on here were nervous too when they still had lots of warranty left.
  25. My best at 60 miles one way to work is 24.9MPG on the 31 mile avg. Mostly at 60MPH. Take off has a lot to do with mileage conservation as well. with only 800 miles on the truck, i haven't planted it yet.
