I have the 3.0L Duramax diesel, and on random cold starts there is a buzzing coming from behind the dash. Haven’t been able to find where, sounds like two plastic pieces vibrating against each other. Anyone have happen to them? Tough since it doesn’t do it consistently. Attached a video of the sound. 4b67c43a-b3fd-46f3-b834-e703b37aad0a_compressed.mp4

I have a 2019 Sierra 2500HD Denali 4x4 Crew Cab. It has the Hill Descent option, but does not have all terrain/Z71. I imagine it has the accelerometer to make the z71 inclinometer work since it needs to be able to detect when its going downhill to turn on the hill descent mode. Wondering if there's any companies that can reprogram the digital dash cluster to add in the offroad inclinometer, or if I have to get a different accelerometer too, or if I would just have to get a different digital dash cluster altogether. Not sure of anywhere else to ask this....I'm also having a hard time figuring out what comes with z71 option, all-terrain option, and then when you have both (which seemed to be an option as a gmc....I'm not sure if thats true but it looks like it) besides all the decals and interior emblem stuff - more referring to the functional features/upgrades. I know on silverado, z71 had that inclinometer, different shocks, skid plates, I think it changed your diff ratios, and it gave you the auto 4x4 select option. Only recently found out that hill descent package is NOT a part of Z71/all-terrain only. Below is pic of inclinometer I was talking about. I'm guessing its tied to the auto 4x4 feature based on the AWD text that changes depending on what mode you're in - which is tied to z71 if I remember correctly

I have a 2019 silverado new body style, i recently developed a rattle in the dash around the steering column, i took it to two dealers and both couldnt find anything. Now the warranty is up and im stuck with a rattle. I am a diesel tech so i tore apart the dash peice by peice and kept driving it around and the rattles continues. So I tightened every bolt i could see and none were loose. I even used a stethoscope going down the road and found that the rattle sounds like its coming straight from the steering column near the bottom. Maybe a bad column im not sure i attached a video of the sound, and it only happens around 45-55mph

I want to get some help from the forum with my audio set up. I want to upgrade the factory non-bose speakers. I spoke to my local audio shop over the phone about replacing the speakers on all 4 doors. Then I asked about the dash speakers and he said yes, he can add tweeters there as well. I assumed the tweeter would be placed in a custom location (like sail panel or A piilar), and the dash would receive its own upgraded speaker. Am I on the right track with that set up? Or does it all really depend on the type of dash speaker I go with? Thanks.

Hey, I have quite the problem solve for all you techs out there. It's been brought to a GM Dealer; no luck. I'm far from unable to work on my own stuff and am mechanically inclined but this one has me stumped. Problem: I'm from Northern Ontario; where an average winter temp is minus 15-25 degrees Celsius. All summer long in warm weather, my dash cluster will work perfectly fine. Last winter, the only time I would have a problem would be when it was around -20 or colder. This year, anything from +2ish and below, absolutely nothing on my dash cluster will work except for the black light (back light works normally, turns on and off when the lighting is proper) this includes speedo, tach, battery, gas, cruise control, odometer... until my truck warms up and I shut it off and warm it back up. And when it's cold, that's no drive around town, I'm talking if it's cold it takes a good half hour on the highway and then I have to shut the key off and turn it back on and my dash flickers and works from then on till I shut it off and it gets cold again. When you cycle the key, the needles kind of flicker and try to go, but no dice. I am beyond stumped. Let me know if any of you have had the same problem or have any type of solution. Justin.

I was driving for about 45 minutes down the interstate in my 2014 Silverado. I went to pass a car and the cruise shut off when i turned the blinker on. The dash lights would also dim for a second when i pressed the brake or turned on the blinker. It continued to do this until i pulled into a parking lot and shut the truck off for about 30 minutes while i was in a store. I should also note that when i pulled in the parking spot it was like the power steering quit for half a second like it has done a few times before. On the 1 hour trip home it drove normally with no issues. I have had other electrical issues like diming headlights when pressing the brake and also headlights dimming in time with the blinker. Usually these problems happen when i have been driving for 45 minutes or more. My battery is about a year old so i dont think that is the issue. Has anyone else had these issues and found a fix? Thanks

This morning I started the truck up and I could see the lights on the dash were flickering like there wasn't enough power, and then the battery light popped on. I restarted the truck and the problem went away, was headed to work so figured I would look at it later. Drove to town with no issues, then parked, when I went to put it in reverse, it died and the battery light popped again. Started it up and no problems. Got to work and parked, and it stumbled like it was going to die, then recovered but all the electrical shut off, like the radio restarted, and the voltage meter was reading low(it usually fluctuates between 14 and 15.5ish, this was around 11. Restarted and now it seems fine again. Battery is about 3 years old, alternator is maybe a year and a half. Not sure what to start looking at for intermittent issues like this.

I have a 2006 GMC 2500. The problem I have now is dimming of the DIC and mirror display. I can be driving on a bright sunny day, and at any time the DIC will dim. The mirror temp and compass display will also dim and will be unreadable it is so faint. The two displays will dim at different times. I have auto-on lights and daytime running lights. Is this related to the cold solder issue I see in other topics? Thanks again!

61872730218__99E50898-03B8-416E-B2E1-D303018DE498.MOV Hello All, I have a 2001 Chevy 1500hd that won’t turn over/start with other electrical issues as well. History: -went to start truck after not using it for a few days and the battery was dead - Boosted it with a booster pack, it started and ran for 1 second and then quit. - charged battery from an other vehicle and won’t even turn over. The dash only has volt meter, and backlighting working. Since then I have triple charged the battery. When you turn the key to the on position the lights come on, the radio works, voltmeter works, check engine light comes on and transfer case indication works. There is no PRND321, odometer, batt light, airbag, seatbelt etc.... when you push and hold the odometer reset button all the normal lights do come on. if you try start. You can here a faint relay click. if I energize the 10 amp crank fuse on the side of the dash the truck starts and continues to run. i have checked fuses, start relay, and battery post connections any ideas?

Hey guys. I'm trying to add a line out converter for my 2020 GMC 3500hd. I'm stuck trying to get the last 2 bottom screws to remove the actual deck portion . There is a strip of plastic between the dash and the center console (SLT version). Is there a truck to getting this piece of plastic out without damaging it. I don't know if it's clipped or screwed. I've included a pic. Also, which color is the ANC wire? I heard you have to clip that or else your sub will sound like crap. I've heard purple/blue or purple White. Thanks in advance.

I recently had a heater core leak in my 1999 chevy silverado and had an ASE certified shop replace the core and inspect the ac evaporator and actuators while replacing it. When I got the truck back the center bracket where the Radio and HVAC controls mount under the trim is offset, with the left side being lower than the right side. I also noted the fold down cupholder bolt points are not completely lined up with the trim that's over it. I contacted the shop to bring it back in under warranty but was wondering if anyone has a full dashboard diagram that might illustrate where the correct positions for the bracket underneath to attach is or has had any experience with this sort of reassembly issue before (I have extensively searched and came up empty). This isn't an area I have had a lot of experience with being a near full dash teardown and I like to know more of what I'm talking about to communicate well and to be a good customer.

I just picked up my new 2014 Double Cab LTZ. Red with Cocoa Dune interior. Love the truck but have an unsettling problem that's driving me CRAZY!!! The top of the dash where the soft touch materiel meets the hard plastic piece where the defrost vents are is warping!!! (see photos) It's happening right in front of the sensor in the middle and on the passenger side. I took it into the dealership a couple days ago and they seemed pretty surprised and concerned. I'm dropping it off tomorrow. Hopefully they can replace the dash piece or something and fix it. I'm wondering if you guys can compare my dash to yours and see if you are having any of the same issues. I live in Michigan so it's cold right now and I'm thinking maybe the temp change from cold to warm (defrost) is warping the plastic? Anyways it's staring me in the face every time I drive it.

I have a 2015 SLT and would like to install an IPAD PRO 12.9 into the dash. I have to relocate the climate controls and the radio control clusters to the center console. Has anyone seen an extension for the AWM 20706 60v 105c VW-1 Ribbon that connects the radio control cluster to the board on the back of the monitor? It resembles the picture. I need a cable that is about 12 inches long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I pick up my new truck. Thought I did a good job looking it over before driving off, but guess not. As I am driving the car a week later, I notice that the dashboard is not fitted properly on the drivers side. There's a noticeable gap where there should not be. It's fine and flush on the rpassenger side. Gonna take it back to the dealer, but I hate the thought of some "technician" trying to adjust/fit it properly. The dealership did a piss poor job of installing the drop in bed liner so am scared that they will mess something up in attempting to fix ithe dash issue. Anyone know if this is an easy fix for the dealership? This is my first chevy and not happy that they can't properly fit a dashboard. Zero quality control for fit and finish. Man I am steamed.

hey yall, been a while. I have a message that's been coming up in my cluster display saying service trailer brakes... uh no trailer on atm . so I pulled the trailer plug out, inspected for corroision, none found, check for shorts in the 7 pin connector itself no problems, I have continuity through all the 7 pins and the associated 4 pins below, only fault in the trailer brake module was for voltage to low from by battery being dead this morning. im thinking the battery died because of the trailer brake faults. it usually after it rains and then the sun comes out, but this morning was the first time my battery died, anyone else have a problem like this. anyone have a good wiring diagram for modules to the plug on the bumper?

I have a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 5.7. I removed the top dash piece today in order to replace the climate control unit. Seemed simple enough (I only had to disconnect the 2 wire harnesses from the dash cover). Replaced everything, cranked it, and noticed the blinkers were stuck on and the wipers wouldn't work. Pressed the hazard light button and the left blinker stayed on. Pressed it a couple more times and the blinkers eventually went off. This is when I noticed that the gear indicator light was also not working. These don't have anything to do with either wire harness that I disconnected, nor the HVAC control unit I replaced. What could cause these 2 issues to happen at the same time? I can understand that by some strange twist of fate the turn signal module died at the time of replacing the HVAC unit, but the gear indicator light too? Anyway, I've checked all fuses/relays and everything seems to be fine. Any ideas?

Hey guys, Sorry if this topic is in the wrong spot, but I was wondering if anyone has or has seen an iPad dash for a 2017 Silverado. I’ve seen a couple around the internet of an iPad and an iPad Mini (I will attach some images of what I’ve seen) but I’m going to get a new iPad with cellular data this Christmas and didn’t want to get it if it won’t even fit. But let me know what you find or attach some images in the comments. I’m having an after market company make the whole thing I just have the bring the iPad but I didn’t want them to call me and say the iPad doesn’t fit. But what I was wanting is the iPad to be removable and the factory radio screen to be behind the iPad.
