2015 Double Cab with factory Bose center console subwoofer that needs some improvement. I’ve been researching our options and wanted some opinions. -JL Stealthbox center console. Is it enough? -JL Stealthbox under the rear seat. Worth the cost? -Kicker system. Easy install but wondering if it will be enough. -Box built with 2x10s. Any recommendations on boxes? Thanks!

JL Audio Stealthbox model SB-GM-SLVD/10TW1/BK. Fits under the rear seat of a 2014 through 2018 Silverado/Sierra Double cab truck like it was built with the truck. Sounds awesome and plays just like new. I'm a SQ guy and no Basshead, so this sub was never played hard. Powered with a 600 watt amp for the past 4 years. Price is $900 and does not include shipping so please message me for a shipping quote. Price for new one is $1400. Thank you for your interest. Rick.

2019 Silverado Speaker Level Audio Tap
grimmysnr posted a topic in 2019-2023 Silverado & Sierra Mods
Hello folks, I have a 2019 Silverado non-bose with the 8-inch screen. I am attempting to install my 10 inch Alpine Subwoofer and amp that was a holdover from other pickups that I had. I got all the wiring complete such as battery, ground, and remote switch at the F27 fuse. The amp turns on and everything appears to be working fine, except I have no audio inputs. I referenced the PDF install guide for the new Kicker subwoofer that is now offered for the 2019 Silverado/Sierra with Bose/non-Bose which tells me to disconnect two 28 pin connectors and locate a Blue and Brown/Blue set of wires. I am supposed to tap into those wires for my input. These connectors are supposed to be off the audio control module over by the glovebox, but I am having a difficult time trying to discern if I have the right connectors or not. Looking underneath my passenger footwell behind the glovebox I found this junction box with all sorts of wires. There are some blue and brown striped wires, but there also seems to be a couple sets of them. I just wanted to reach out to all of you and see if I am on the right track and I just need to dig further or if I need to look elsewhere. I am one wire tap away from getting this working. Thank you! -
Hey all, I recently purchased a couple shallow mount subs, a subthump box, and an amp/wiring kit for my 2015 GMC Sierra SLE. I also purchased this line output converter to get the signal to the amp from the stock wiring. I searched for "line output converter" and literally nothing came up on the forum, so i'm curious if anyone knows the easiest place to tap into to get the subwoofer signal to the amp? I'd greatly appreciate any help! My truck is a 2015 GMC Sierra SLE, does NOT have the Bose factory system. PAC LP7-2: http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1188 Gear i'm adding: 2x Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-12 1x Power Acoustik EG1-2500D -- wired to 2 ohms, about 800w RMS total subthump dual 12" box w/ amp rack space Thanks! Can any give some insight on which wires are connected to which speakers on the green plug. I have attached a picture. There are a total of 10 wires and I’m assuming they are (LF+/-)(RF+/-), (RR+/-), (LR+/-) 12V and ground but do not know which goes to where. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Ok so I have looked everywhere and got some great info but can not find anyone who has installed a slim 8inch subwoofer behind the rear seat or under the passenger seat. I have a 2015 crew cab non Bose and my passenger seat is not power so I have some room. The Rockford P3SD48 P3 Punch Shallow mount 8-Inch DVC 4-Ohm Subwoofer I got only needs .40 cu ft per manufacture recomendations. So a pretty small sealed or ported box will do it. I got a Alpine MRV-M250 to power it. I'm going to run 4 awg marine power wire from my second battery and it should let me up the amp to 500w if this 8 inch does not cut it. As far as connections I'm pretty good to go but I'm looking for help with the placement of the sub box and would love to get everyone's thoughts. Not looking for a lots of bass just to help the sound quality out some.

Anyone put a new Kicker L7 Thin in a 2017 Crew Cab Silverado/Sierra? Was thinking about putting a L7T 12 or 10'' under my rear seat. Pics of setup would be awesome.

I am installing a 10” subwoofer in my 17 Silverado custom double cab with 7” touchscreen non bose. I have everything ran and wired except for my loc. I’d like to install it behind the factory touch screen. I can not seem to find the colors for the speaker wires anywhere. Every one I’ve found has a green plug and mine has a grey and brown plug. Can anyone tell me which wires are for the rear speakers? Thank you in advance.

I am trying to add an AudioControl Line Output converter, and 2 separate amplifiers to my existing 2015 Sierra Crew Cab SLT Bose system. I'll use a 5-way amp to power the front, rear, and console subwoofer. I've got a sub amp to power dual 10" subwoofers in an enclosure under the back seat. I've looked everywhere for a 2014-2015 GMC Sierra aftermarket harness for Bose systems without any luck. Basically, I would like to fabricate a custom harness so that I don't have to totally splice into the existing wiring. That way, I can simply keep my existing bose system in place, and if needed for warranty or if I end up selling or needing to yank out the audio system, still keep factory in place. Also, I can't completely remove the factory Bose amp, because it handles other processing, like bluetooth, door chimes, etc. The amp will continue to power the two dash speakers, and have other low level inputs from the factory head unit, but all of the other speakers outputs (from Bose Amp) will be summed by the AudioControl LOC, then output via RCA to the two amps, with speaker level outputs from the amps back to the custom harness and out to the speakers. I've found an adapter from Metra for an amp bypass (http://www.metraonline.com/part/70-2057), which was made for non-bose, but will work for the female side of the custom harness on the bose system, but I need the male versions of the adapter as well to connect to the amp. If I could get the harnesses identified as #3 in the photo below, I think that will work. Then I just do all the splicing and electrical connections on the custom harness instead of factory wiring. Any idea how to find/order it?

I have a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT that I just bought and I am looking to hookup an after market subwoofer and amp but I like the stock dash look so I don't want to replace the stock radio (which would make this process a lot easier). Would I just replace the stock sub and amp and splice into the current wires? Could I keep the stock sub and amp also while connecting new sub and amp? Does the stock radio have RCA connectors in the back that I can connect too? In a perfect world I would be able to add a new sub and amp without replacing the stock sub and amp and still have a high quality sound system without using RCA plugs since I do not think they come on the back of the stock radio.

I’m trying to install a powered subwoofer in a 2019 Silverado 1500 crew cab, 8” screen, no Bose system. Are the twisted wires in the picture the rear speaker wires? These run down the passenger side of the truck. Those are the ones I tapped into. The sub is getting power, but no sound.

So I am soon to do a big install in my 15 Sierra double cab and I plan to mount my two amps, Lc7i, and the power and ground distribution to the back wall. I don't want to zip screws through the wall and I'm in need of a method to attach either a 1/2" piece of MDF or a piece of 1/2" PVC foam board. Which should I use and how to mount it to the rear wall? Thank you

Hey, I'm getting an aftermarket subwoofer setup. I would Like to get a button to turn the amp on and off. Either for the seat warmer position or the bank of buttons below. Does anyone have a site where I could buy one?

I bought this back in... 2013, from a dealer in McKinney, TX (Dallas) for my 2011 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab Z-82 Texas Edition. While I was finishing my 3" rear seat lift, Forward Firing Quad 8" 4.5cu ft NET dual ported box @ 31Hz, mounting my 5 Amps, sealing off every small hole in all 4 doors with 1/8" wood and Dynamat Extreme, my Focal Utopia 6W2 Components, Focal K2p PolyKevlar Comps, etc..... I ended up totalling my 2008 Sierra 5.3l the day before I received the Mechman Alternator. A lady pulled out on the 4 lane highway (speed limit 65mph) + middle turn lane, thinking the stoplight (in the middle of nowhere) was red, but it was green, so I never let off my cruise control, whixh was set to 69mph, 4mph over the speed limit. It was cliche. Everything happened in slow motion. I was just going to slam on my brakes and rear end her, probably giving her a 50/50 chance at surviving or swerve. But I saw a young, 4-8 year old girl in the passenger seat, so I swerved. Unfortunately, I hadn't cleaned off one of my wheel speed sensors, so my VDC wasn't working, so Iserved, thinking my VDC would save me from my sudden jerk of the wheel, but itdidn't, lost the rear end, swerved left initially, then right as my rear end got light, went across I front of her, swerved left and went straight across into a tree and rolled it 4 times. She stopped for a second, never got out and drove off. I had numerous people stop and help me. Most. who saw it, was angry at the car who clearly saw it, a few guys said I should have just ran her over. So anyway... my Mechman G-Series 270a Alternator with the optional $65.00 Billet Aluminum OverDrive Pulley came in the day after I totaled it. The OverDrive Pulley does two things. First, it lightens the unsprung rotational mass, therefore making it much easier to spin which equals more horsepower. 2nd and most important is that it allows much higher output and lower RPM's. I no longer need it as I never purchased another GM vehicle. It just happened that way. I ended up getting a Nissan Armada and now I'm in a 2011 Nissan Titan Pro-4X Crew Cab that I'm lifting 8" in the front & 9" in the rear. I believe I paid $600 total for it as I have the receipt. This fits all GM vehicles from 2004-2014 4.3l, 5.3l, 6.0l, 6.2l and many others such as 3.4l, 3.6l etc.. It fits vehicles with the 2-Pin Alternator Wiring Harness Plug. The alternator I was upgrading was the Optional AC Delco DR44 145a alternator, which is for sale also. Never installed, never mounted, never been inside an engine bay. I do know that the smaller pulley does not require a new belt. I paid $499 + $65 for the Billet Aluminum Overdrive Pulley + $20'ish for Shipping For Sale Price: $400 + Actual UPS Fully Insured ($500) Shipping

I have a BNIB Mechman G Series 270a Alternator for the NNBS trucks. This will fit numerous other vehicles with the 2 pin plug which includes 4.3l, 5.3l, 6.0l and many others. I am just now getting around to posting everything up for sale which I am posting for sale on other GM Truck message boards. Holidays have been hell I am selling it in Brand New Condition with 10% off of the cost straight from Mechman + Free Shipping to the 48 states. So $479 – 10% = $431.10. I will make it an even $430 with Free Shipping. It has its factory warranty as I purchased it from an authorized dealer straight through Mechman. It's been a rough past several months... I was buying everything collectively over the past several months and would have had everything purchased and installed by now except earlier this year, I was rushed to the hospital where I was hospitalized for 3 weeks and had to have major abdominal surgery which took me a couple of months to recover from. I then resumed purchasing everything, but never got a chance to install. I totaled the truck in a rollover accident in late August where I had just begun my installation process which included removal of my rear seats, installing the 3" rear lift I assembled together, installed my 40 section of my 40/60 rear seats, installed my Dynamat, painted and mounted my amp rack backplate, ran one of my 1/0awg OFC power wire and was in the process of running my second run of 1/0awg power wire and had just built my fiberglass QUAD 8” 3.0 cuft net forward facing ported box tuned to 31Hz for my brand new 4 Sundown Audio SA-8 V.2 Stock SPL subs. This is how I had my new install planned out, which many of this is for sale. I had everything ready to install my new stereo which includes my 4 Brand New Sundown Audio SA-8 V.2 Stock SPL Model 8” Subwoofers, BNIB Audiopipe AP30001D 3000wrms amplifier, XS D3400 Battery, New Kinetic HC16V 16Volt battery with dual 12v and 16v battery post, my current Focal Utopia 6.5” Components installed in the front doors, my current Focal K2P 6.5” Components with Digital Design T1 silk dome tweeters for a more laid back sound installed in the rear, my current Focal PS 165 Performance 6.5” Components installed in my Q-Logic Kick Panels, New, but not installed yet Audiopipe AQX-360.4 4 channel amp, my currently installed Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2, 2 runs of 1/0awg OFC Cadence Cool Wire that I only had 1 run installed, several various distribution power fused and ground blocks and my currently installed JVC KW-NT800HDT 7” TouchScreen Navigation/DVD Unit. I was able to take the stock alternator, various interior plastics, Gorilla Locking Lugnuts, and some other items. I have the factory radio also. All of this is available for sale except the Gorilla Locking Lugnuts if anyone needs it for their NNBS truck. I will eventually begin posting the items, mentioned above, I have for sale soon. I know have a Nissan Armada SE 4x4 so I won’t need any of the factory items and many of the other BNIB Car Audio equipment. I am selling it in Brand New Condition with 10% off of the cost straight from Mechman + Free Shipping to the 48 states. So $479 – 10% = $431.10. I will make it an even $430 with Free Shipping.

I just traded in my 2012 2500 crew cab (Chevy LTZ) for a 2016 3500 crew cab (Denali) and have noticed a huge difference in the sound of the stock stereo. They are both Bose premium systems but they sound worlds apart. I have seen other posts on 2016 Yukons and Tahoes that the new ones are hollow, but have not seen comments on the 2016 trucks. Not to knock the truck as everything else has exceeded my expectations except this, but for an MSRP of almost 70K, I think a vehicle should have a decent stereo. I even tried to reach out to GM to see what size speakers where in the truck: JC:7:02:52 PM GMC - Assistance with my Infotainment system Connection established. I just bought my first newish truck, being the 2014 Silverado 2wd z71 lt. It’s got the crew cab with 5.3l under the hood. I’m currently stationed at ft Stewart ga. Im just looking for some help or some advice on some upgrades I’d like to do to this truck and which products might be the best. - I’d like to change the headlights and fog lights from stock. - Put a leveling kit and some new (bigger) a/t tires on it and not sure what size being 2wd. - Change to an aftermarket air intake. - Do something about the shitty stock speakers (without Bose). Wether it be new door speakers and sub(s). Or be just subs and have a separate amp just for door speakers. Do I need a processor to hook up to stock 8” head unit. - How do I add any app or navigation to this stock 8” head unit - Exhaust? - How to get more performance from the truck. Anything would help, Thanks

So I had an insane custom system in my previous BMW and am wanting a bit more in my truck. Nothing insane just better than stock. Crisper, cleaner, more defined. 2017 Silverado crew cab Z71, no bose. Are there 6 speakers total? What sizes are they in each location? What power ratings are they? Thinking about the Kicker upgrade with DSP and replacing stock speakers with better ones. Does the new kicker amp power just front and rear doors? Anything go to the dash speakers? Anyone put tweets in dash location and mids in doors? Is there any control over kicker dsp? Thank you!

Looking to see what people have for a SUB setup. Not looking to do anything crazy. Just trying to get some Bass in the truck... Has anyone used or seen the Subthump box for these trucks

May consider; backflip VP bed cover (5'8 bed)Make an offer I can't refuse.
