Driver Door Ajar

I have an 04 silverado and starting this morning when driving down the road my Driver Information Center starts telling me "Driver Door Ajar" and the interior lights come on. The door is definately shut and i'm wondering if there is a sensor or something that i need to replace...........Has anyone else had this problem and maybe knows where the sensor for the door is at.......any help would be appreciated...

there is no sensor. Its built into the door latch in the door.

I had that happen before. Spray some white lithium up in the hinges and also the latch ( the sensor is built into one of them).

Priced a door latch "ouch" $206.00 plus tax! I will try to spray it with grease and see if that helps first.......
