Damaged Inner Tie Rod Grease Boot

Recommended Posts

Posted

Was greasing up my front end today, and found that the D/S inner tie rod grease boot has shifted slightly out of position. It still holds grease. Looks like it should be possible to slide it back, tried applying some pressure with the flat edge of a wrench, but I couldn't budge it.

Opinions on shifting it back? I could definitely change the tie rod end myself, but then I'd have to get it back in alignment enough to take it in to get a proper alignment done, rather avoid that if possible.

See pic.

Be interesting to see if it stays. I'm changing both inner tie rod ends this weekend (if I get the Christmas lights done first)
