Too Big Of A Tire?

Are you getting new rims as well? It looks like a 305 will require at least and 8.5" wide rim. I have the rough country 2" lift on my truck and when I tried 305/60/18s on a 10" wide rim I could lock the tire on the fender well when turning the steering wheel sharp to the left or right. So I think its going to depend on your rim width and offset. :dunno:

I wasn't planning on getting new rims... It was just a idea I was tossing around in my head. Guess I'll stick to 285/70/17's!! Still having a rough time choosing a good AT tire...

BFG, Nitto or Goodyear in that order. MHO (my humble opinion) :dunno: I am running with BFG's thanks to SierraRR. I will install 285/70/17's when these wear out.

Well right now it's between BFG AT and Cooper Discoverer ST. I like the Cooper because the tread is more open and I hunt in the sticky clay of the Mississippi delta. I was thinking the Coopers would clean a little better but you can't go wrong with BFG's in my opinion... My uncle has 70,000k on his AT's and is switching to BFG MT's.

I'm leaning toward BFG right now as I'm mostly highway driving.

I think the discoverers look awesome. I was torn for a little while between the coopers and nitto but decided to go with nitto because of your same reason. I drive alot on the highway. The BFG do look pretty good too. I'd go with those.

Yeah I'm still just real torn between the Coopers and the BFG's. They look real similar and for some reason I like the white lettering on the BFG's it makes the truck look good somehow. I guess it'll be a game time decision when I get some.

I think I'll be happy with either set I get. Its just making my mind up in the mean time.

I say go with the Mickey Thompson ATZs. Probably will be my next tire.

Good suggestion. I really like the look of those too

I can't drop the money of Mickey's. I would love to have some as well but can't drop $1000+ on some tires while I'm in college...

I am considering some of these for my next tire. It might be a bit overboard for what I need, but I like them a lot. The reviews say they are pretty quiet on the highway for such an aggresive tire.

I looked into those too. I really like the looks of them. I've heard alot about weak sidewalls though. People saying its like driving on basketballs.... Which I don't like too much.

i have 285/70/17 duratracs on my truck and i drive from ohio to michigan and back every weekend and these tires are still holding up and are very quiet on the road. they do bounce a little more but nothing to drastic. they are excellent in all weather conditions im just waiting for the snow even though i know they will be great
