87 Chevy Won't Start

Recommended Posts

I need some help on my 87 350 throttle body.

I am not getting any fuel out of injectors. I can not hear the pump run when ignition is turned on, but I do hear the relay click.

It will momentarily run/start on fuel poured into throttle body.

I can not find a fuse associated with the pumps - is there one? If so, where is it?

Truck has been sitting for several years. Guy I bought it from says he replaced both pumps, and started the truck 6 months ago.

There is a fuel block, switch of some kind on top of the frame on the passenger's side with electrical wires running to it. I guess it switches tanks?

Any trouble shooting help would be appreciated.

You're pretty much 80% done with the trouble shooting already! There is a fuse for the pump(s). It/they should be either under your dash or in a fuse/relay center under your hood. Start there and check for power, and work your way down towards the tanks. When you get to a wire/switch/relay that has power going to it and nothing coming out, you've found the problem.

Of course, it may be something else, like your tank selector switch/valve or fuel pressure regulator, but I personally would start with your pumps and wiring.
