Cabin Temp Control Problem

07 Silverado...

I do not have the dual climate control, it does not matter what position the temp knob is on the control panel, the air blows warm/hot. It is like the knob is stuck in the hot position. I have reseated the plugs on the back of the control panel with no luck.

I am thinking it is the control panel that is causing the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have dual climate control and had a problem of the driver side blowing colder then the pass side, the dealer recall the blend doors and it was ok for a few weeks and just started doing it again this weekend.I dont know if the non dual is the same way or not.

I did a search on this forum for the blend door actuator.

This is what fixed my problem

1. Pull all the fuses for the HVAC system (in my case there were 3) in the fuse box under the hood.

2. Leave the fuses out for about 5 minutes.

3. Reinstall the fuses.

4. Get in the truck and shut the door.

5. Turn on the ignition but do not start the truck for 1 minute.

6. Start the truck and leave it running for 1.5 minutes.

7. Shut the truck off.

8. Open the driver door, exit the vehicle and close the driver door.

9. Wait approximately 5 minutes.

10. Get in the truck and test to see if the reset fixed the problem.

I would like to thank everyone for the help I got with my problem

My problem came back, the Reset worked for about a week then had the same problem again and froze my ass off on the way to work this morning.

So Today I decided to Remove and Replace the Temp Valve Actuator (Blend Door Actuator)Part Number 15887320.

Here is how you do it....

First Pull the 3 HVAC Fuses from the Fuse Box located under the hood. They are all 10 amp Fuses, #40 #50 and #57

These are all the tools necessary to do the job.

1 Screw Driver

2 90 degree adapter

3 #15 and #20 Torque Tip

4 7mm Nut Driver

5 New Temp Valve Actuator

The Temp Valve Actuator is item Number 9

The access is through the upper and lower Glove Box.

To access this area, you need to open the Lower Glove Box all the way by pushing the release mechanism on the right side of the Glove Box.

Then Remove the Upper Glove Box by first removing the lower trim panel, it just pulls off.

Then Remove the 4 Screws that hold the Upper Glove Box in place, then Pull the Glove Box out.

This is the Temp Valve Actuator after the removal and replacement. But this Video shows you where it is located as well as how it is supposed to work.

This is what it looks like with the Temp Valve Actuator removed.

After you are done Replacing the Temp Valve Actuator, reinstall the 3 HVAC fuses that were previously removed into the Fuse Panel under the hood.

Then Start the Truck, but do not touch the temp controls for at least a minute.

Verify your Temp Valve Actuator is working properly and Close the Accessed Area.

I wonder if this procedure work for the Auto AC systems?

I'm almost sure it would... But I found out after writing all this up. You really only need to pull the fuses wait about 5 minutes, reinstall the fuses, then start the truck and not touch anything for at leas a minute. That should reset your Temp Valve Actuator.
