Transmission Problem

I have a 2000 silverado 1500 2wd. I got it with a bad transmission and bought a "rebuilt transmission" from someone.it is also supposed to have a transgo shift kit. i installed it and filled the fluid to the correct level. when i drive the truck it seems as though it does not go into 2nd or 4th gear. when you take off you have to get the truck up around 20mph or more and ease off the gas and it feels like it goes to 3rd gear. then it doesn't change again. im thinking its 3rd gear because at 55mph im a little over 2k rpm. i put my code scanner on the truck and it doesn't have any trouble codes and the check engine light is not on. i'm trying to narrow down this problem and i have taken part of the servo out and everything looks fine there. i'm wondering where to go next. drop the transmission mount so that i can get the whole servo assembly out or pull the trans and tear into it to check the 2-4 band? also wondering if its in 3rd or 4th with those rpms.

well you have to be sure by manually shifting it ,that someone owes you some money,either way ,it has to come out and apart ,
