Ignition Issue? 2005 Suburban 1500 2wd

My sister's 2005 suburban 1500 5.3 ltr. has an intermittent issue. Sometimes when she turns the key, the dash lights all light up, but the starter wont engage. It doesn't click, or anything. After fiddling with the key, wiggling it around, she can get it to start. She hasn't had an issue with it conking out while under way, just occasionally when first trying to start. Has anyone had this problem, or know what it might be? I was thinking the anti-theft circuit, but if I remeber right, it allows starter to turn, but wont keep running. Am I wrong? Also she has this issue with both of her keys.

I would suspect the ign switch is bad but not the lock assembly.

Thanks for the reply. I was suspecting the switch, like a bad solder joint for the start wire or something, so your input gives me direction. I just called the dealer, and the switch is $48, and can be here Tuesday. It makes the most sense, so I will give that a shot. Before I actually order it, I will get under there with my dmm and meter the start circuit while my sister tries to start it. That should prove it for me.
