Swapping Dashes And Dic

Ok from what I've been reading swapping the DIC is no problem just buy the new panel and buttons and plug in and away I go (mine currently does not have the 4 DIC buttons) But my question comes in switching the Dash out. My truck is a 07 GMC WT with the 4 gauge dash and I want to swap it out for the 6 guage dash. I've been reading a bunch of the other posts any everybody either wants to do this or thinks it will work but I can't find any after posts with either pics of somebody saying that yes this does work. My goal is to put the 2009-2010 6 gauge cluster into my truck for the added compass and therometer in the dash. Now my question is first will either of the 6 gauge clusters work in my truck? (either the 07-08 or the 09-10)? and second if I use the one from the 09-10 will my truck have the temp sensors and where are they located so I can check if they are there?

wow,good luck to ya!,you know the cluster is a module right and if the BCM doesn't send temp info now ,it won't with a cluster that has the temp input ,i don't think it will work at all but i've been wrong before occasionally,lol

thanks...this is exactly what I was looking for so I guess I can rule out the 09-10 gauges (I'm not looking for anything indepth to this project I just want an easy swap with minimal down time) what about the 07-08 six gauge is that going to work with my truck? and does anyone know where they mount the temp stuff so I can check if my truck has them for the mirror?

your not getting what I'm saying ,your body control module does not have that in it to give to a different cluster and thru programming you can't tell it to either ,there is only a few programs avail and the bcm has to be the right one ,years ,options etc

i say forget it ,glue on a thermometer to the windshield,its easier and way cheaper !!! lol

but some guy with to much money has probably done it so hold on a bit ,he'll answer with part numbers i would think lol

ok thank you... that is exactly what I wanted to know. I did miss understand the first post I thought you were saying that the BCM just wouldn't work with the added compass and thermometer not that the entire gauge cluster wouldn't work with it.
