Mode Control Acting Up

Need some help here.

 

Recently my truck has started to have a mind of its own. The air will randomly go from the front vents to the defrost position. If I shut the truck off and restart it will reset. I can not make it do it under one certain condition, just random times. No matter if in auto or manually controlled. I have also heard a ticking noise under the dash center consol that sounds like a gear that is trying to move but cant.

You need a heater control actuator. Crawl under there and find the actuator thats clicking and replace it.
