Z85 Package Info?

what all was involved in the z85 packages in 2004? bigger axle? i've been trying to figure it out and cannot see a difference between z85s and z71s besides the sticker and a skid plate...

Shocks,Thats pretty much the difference.

My dad has a Z85 4x4. It has a button in the cab that allows for adjusting the shocks (soft for better ride, firm for trailering and offroad). Its a very nice system when pulling various trailers around.

You are correct...I wasn't thinking. Adjustable Ride Control is RPO Code ZX3.

Correct,That would be suspension RPO code "ZX3",My buddy has it on his '06 w/the NHT Max-Trailering Pkg.,It was part of the NHT pkg. on the GMT800 trucks,It was also part of the NYS Quadrasteer pkg. on those trucks,as well as being an individual option on certain other models.

It was even available with the Z71 suspension as RPO code "FW1"

lol i was figureing shocks but i'm pretty sure mine were fryed when i got the truck so i have no idea what they were like, i just threw on bilsteins lol

 

 

what exactly were the shocks suppose to do that made them so different then the rest? so the axle isen't any different its the same old 12 bolt?
