Resetting A Superchips Cortex

I'm looking at buying a used Cortex off a guy who sold his truck. He's not sure if he reinstalled the stock info back to the truck before selling.

 

I've read a few previous posts on a few sites that indicate the stock tune needs to be downloaded before you can use on a different vehicle.

 

Is there a way to reset it even if he did not? I'd hate to buy it and then find out you can't. I haven't received a response from Superchips.

If he hasn't returned his truck to stock, it's a paper weight.

 

Superchips will not support you either so do even try.

You can always connect it to your truck and try it out before you buy (if the guy is local and honest). If it loads the tune to your truck, then it's good to go...

You can have it VIN wiped by Superchips for a fee. I think it is about $100 or so.
