454 Vortec Heads

I was wondering if I could replace my old heads with a set of Vortec heads on my 3/4 ton Suburban? I'm not looking to get as much power out of it as possible, just a little more. If I can free up some funds I might do a few things to the lo' girl(93 TBI C2500 454). Would I also need a different intake, cam?

The heads will go right on no issue. The intake will require a bit of research. The vortec 454 was never carburated. A Gen IV oval port intake I was told works though. The smaller combustion chamber and the volume that the vortec port has will yield better compression and more torque. Your camshaft would be fine. Also you will need some tuning to take full advantage of the vortec head. Just my opinion.

THey should bolt right on. i was told that Edlebrock makes a intake that will work with those heads and the TBI
