Front End Noise

Truck is a 99 nbs z71.

I hear a growling noise coming from the front drivers side while driving. It gets louder around right turns like the cloverleaf entrance ramps to get on the freeway and when I go over a big bump and the suspension bottoms outs like going over an intersection or railroad tracks.

I jacked the front end up and spun the wheel and can hear a "clicking" type noise, but can't tell if its from the cv axle/joint or something right inside the front differential like a bearing or somethin.

I want to avoid taking it in to the shop so if it's the cv joint i can fix it myself but i am not 100% sure if that's what it is. If it's something in the differential I will probly have to take it in though.

There's no play in the wheel so it's not the wheel bearing, which has been replaced once.

Anyone got any ideas or tests to see if it is the cv joint or not?

Any suggestions or info is well appreciated.

probably the cv joint, if it was the diff i don't think it would make noise unless in 4x4
