Not Sure If A Problem

I am currently driving a 2007 gmc 1500 classic. I am currently in Minnesota and the temp is about 30 degrees or so. I changed the oil not to long ago, now i notice, when i accelerate, my oil pressure raises between 60 and 80, then drops down to 40 and sits. The truck isn't in 4 wheel drive. I drive in Drive, so it shouldn't be from needing to shift. Not sure if I have a problem or if its just from the cold. It has about 45000 miles on her. Thanks for any help, and hope i didnt make this to confusing.

Nope perfectly normal. Your oil pressure gauge will go up as you accelerate. Mine sits around 40 at idle and cruise. The needle moves up as I accelerate. No worries.

Thanks, i've never noticed it before, was the thing. I used a house filter and didnt know if that was the thing. Being 1000 miles from my shop, also is why it had me concerned. Once again, thanks.

That is high. Remember though, the gauge isn't 100% accurate. If it's still worrying you, take your truck into the shop and have them check it out so you can sleep well at night.
