Door Lock, No Horn, Learned Something New

im gonna put this up more for people doing a search on a similar issue than anything else. last night we get home and i hit the lock button, doors lock, hit it again, and they lock again, but the hornm doesnt beep. great im thinking its back to the dealer again. keep hitting it and it keeps locking but no beep. turns out the wife didnt close the door all the wayand it was only half way latched, closed that, and it beeps again.

Did your owner's manual arrive yet? Put it next to the crapper so that you have no reason not to flip through it!!

 

The double beep that you would have gotten from hitting the lock twice tells you that the factory security is on. It will not beep if a door is only partially closed because it will not arm. If you want to see something funny, arm it with the windows down and then unlock the door manually from the inside and open the door......

nope its not here yet, i went to the dealer last week to ask about it and its back ordered. my guess is it may never arrive and i may have to throw a rock through their window for the inconvenience, lol.

 

id imagine the alarm would go off, atleast my parents old windstar used to. also i get a single beep when i arm the alarm, and i can set it to beep twice when i disarm or unlock it, but the issue i was having was the alarm was beeping twice while locking/arming the system.

 

so far its been a week and i havent needed to go to the dealer im feeling pretty good right about now, and with that jinx i bet my tranny pukes tomorrow, haha
