Rear Blocks

As for lifting the rear with a block, how big of a block do you really want to use?

My lift kit has a 4" block in the rear, is that too big? My mechanic told me 4 is too big and I shud run smaller and add leafs instead

Just curious thats all, kinda odd that the kits would include a block thats kinda unusable... Whats everyones opinion?

As long as they have the proper pinion angle then it doesn't matter.

Blocks just increase axle wrap and wheel hop. New leaf packs or traction bars are the best way to fix these problems. A add-a-leaf would help but not enough to justify buying new blocks.

Yeah, I have 3" blocks with no problems. Only thing I've heard about them is that is bad is the rear end "bounces" a little more on rough terrain. Hell, the rough country 7.5" lift comes with a 6" block as an option. Lots of people have ran that with no problems. I have no experience, but judging by my 3", 4" is going to be fine. If I had that RC with the 6", judging by how it drove, I would then maybe look into other options.

I substituted my 4" BDS blocks for 5" BDS blocks and I don't notice a difference between the two. I'm eventually going to add a set of air bags in the rear to adjust the rear based on my load.
