Replace Folding Console With Seat With Headrest And Harness

Hi,

I would like to replace the front middle section of our seat with a bucket seat that has a shoulder belt or 5-point harness. Where could i buy this, and what brand of aftermarket seat is reccomended, and does it pass the crash-test criteria.

Nothing like that will be DOT approved; neither a seat or a harness. A 5-point harness will be illegal for street use in most every state. And even to properly install a harness, you need a harness bar of some sort to attach the shoulder belts.

 

If your truck is an extended cab, there is no place to install a harness bar; a bar needs a structure on each side of the cab to bolt in. Then the bottom belts need their own mounting points and the sub belt has to be bolted to the floor or the seat base.

 

Not sure what your intention is, but it is a really bad idea.
