2010 Leather Staining

I traded my 07 Sierra with black leather back in August for 10 Tahoe with the light titanium(wanted black but the deal they were giving me they would not DX for a similar vehicle with black leather) I wear dark jeans a lot and the left bolster on the drivers side seems to be turning blue. Does anyone else have this issue. IS there a specific leather cleaner that will help with this? Thanks!

It'll come right out, my old Yukon had the Light Pewter/Shale interior, so I know what your're going through. I preferred a two part system over an all in one, meaning you clean first, then apply conditioner. I think I used to use Meguiars, but I know Mothers makes it caus its sitting in my garage right now. Use white terry towels to clean so you can see how much dirt you're pulling out, and don't switch to conditioner until it's clean.

I always clean and condition my leather at least two or three times a year, it makes a huge differencein the long run.

You really don't need a leather cleaner. The leather in most vehicles is a top coated leather. It has a polyvinyl coating which makes is more durable and keeps it from absorbing water and scratching like uncoated leather. You can use a vinyl cleaner. I use Simple Green to remove spots, black marks etc. I had a Yukon with tan leather and It also got blue staind from some pigment dyed shorts that I wore after only one washing and it came off but it did take some scrubbing with a small leather brush such as this http://classic-motoring.stores.yahoo.net/br-176.html The brush works much better than a towel or cloth. The leather in that vehicle still looked good after 8 years when I traded it.

If you search the net you will get many many different answers about leather care. You will also probably get many different answers here. You will just have to decide what you think will work and give it a try. Unless you try something very radical you shouldn't have any problem with damaging your seats.

+1 on the simple green for cleaning.

I've got the Light Titanium interior and i've noticed the same issue (i wear dark jeans alot too).

I've always conditioned leather with Sadle Soap, seems to work the best in my experience.
