A/c Belt And Tensioner

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.

I have a simple question. I noticed a squeaking coming from my engine during cold starts, and didn't have time to trace it until last weekend. I noticed while checking my oil that the belt for my A/C has a surprising amount of cracks in it. When I took the load off the belt, I noticed that the pulley has a wobble to it. So I need to replace my A/C tensioner and the A/C belt, but perhaps someone could chime in on the best brand/what part numbers to get. I checked rock auto and they seem to have a whole bunch of different sizes and part numbers, and I don't know how to determine which one I need.

The truck is a 2006 1500 Silverado with 5.3

Also, is it normal to have this kind of belt cracking/wear at only 67k miles? My main serpentine belt is in great shape, but the A/C belt is hosed.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks!
