Code Po442 On My '01 Suburban 5.3

My SES light came on last week on my 2001 Suburban.. I took the vehicle to AutoZone, and they pulled a PO442 code. About 4 years ago, I had installed a locking gas cap (my wife's paranoia when gas hit $4/gal back in 2007, even though she gets the garage space.....but that's a topic for another day). The AutoZone guy reset the light, but after about 2 days of driving, it came back on. The guy at AutoZone told me that sometimes the aftermarket locking gas caps go bad, so I reinstalled the factory cap.

He mentioned that typically this is a gas cap issue, but also could be one of the following:

1. EVAP canister or hose cracked - not connected

2. Purge or vent solenoid defective

3. Vacuum leak at engine

I did a quick search, and found a few posts on this topic:

Will the light go off by itself since the OEM cap has been reinstalled? Or do I need to get the reset the light myself?
