What Towing Mirrors Work With Dl3?

Recommended Posts

My truck has the DL3 option and searching through fleaBay most of the mirrors say that you loose curb assist and memory function. Are there any towing mirrors that retain those options? I really don't care so much about the power fold I have now. Doesn't work well anyway. I was about ready to buy a set without the signal just to save some $$ butI like that feature.

Has anyone with the DL3 (power folding) switched to towing mirrors? What was the functionality of the mirrors after the swap?

I had the DL3 on my truck and went to the tow mirrors I like them a lot better the little curb side mirrors are nice to have when parking in tight spots

Did everything else work fine? Did you lose the memory function? Were they OEM or aftermarket mirrors?

Thanks,

I had the DL3 mirrors, and had the GM dealer replace with the tow mirrors when I bought it. You LOSE the memory function, the folding, and the "curb assist" (in their defense they did tell tell me this before they installed them in case I changed my mind. I didn't believe them, so then they showed me the GM installation instructions) However, the small 'wide angle' mirror on the tow mirrors show the curb a bit to give you an idea. The large mirror is still power and heated with the signal arrow.

When they replaced mine, it also included a new door switch panel (which does not have the folding button) and then they had to reprogram the computer.

On a side note, I have a set of DL3 mirrors in mint condition with a switch panel sitting in my garage......

Thanks mc, that's what I was looking for. I wish the memory would stay, I like that option. Hadn't though about the switch panel, figured I just have some buttons that didn't work.

If these are black & are the ones that have the turn signals in them, I'd be interested in taking them off your hands... if you still have them what would you want for them?

They're with Summit White caps (matching my truck). And yes they have turn signals, heated, power control and power fold. WITH the switch panel... I'll look around and see what they're worth.

ok, thanks for the followup.. i'm going to keep looking for black ones; not sure it'd be cost effective for me to have to paint the white ones, or to source replacement black caps unless your price was really nice!

Found some GM take offs on CL so I got the swap done. Not sure why they would have to flash the computer. I just plugged them in and they work fine. I have some dead switches where the power fold was, but oh well.

As a side note, don't drop the nut to the bottom of the door... very hard to get out.

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
