1995 Chev C1500 5.7l Shift Problem

I have a C1500, 5.7L reg cab truck. When I shift from P to D or R, it hesitates before engaging in gear. The U-Joints are good. Other than this delay in engaging, the tranny shifts good when I start out. It is just when I am stopped and changing gears. It is an automatic. What could be causing this? The trans fluid is not burnt and the fluid and filter were changed recently.

Low pump pressure or a trans going out. Did it do this prior to the filter and fluid being changed? Is the fluid level correct, that will also lend to this condition.
