gregrocks89 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 So in august im going down to salmon arm bc for week and its probably time i should get some stuff done my truck. Just got to install my double din dvd deck, put new rotors and brake pads on, new wiper blades, new washer fluid line, wheel alignment, and a couple exhaust holes that have been slowly getting bigger to get patched. Im bringing my dirt bike down and obviously its gonna be changed up like a mofo. Does anyone have any ideas on chaining their dirt bikes up? I was thinking since i have the box links welded on each side of the box, i was thinking on running a chain through the front tire to either side of the box, a chain thru the rear tire on either side and a chain going thru the front and rear rims. I have had a dirt bike stolen last year so im kinda anal about it now haha. Any ideas?
Fobroader Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Salmon arm, cool, I was in that area a few years ago. Chaning anything down is the same process, as long as you dont put a strap through anything that moves with the suspension you are good.
Carder09 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I usually use ratchet straps on the handle bars, strap down. The back tire and sometimes the front depending on where im going
gregrocks89 Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 yeah i will be using ratchet straps as well to hold it down, just wanted added security
blacksierra01 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I usually put a chain through the rear rim, and the front rim, and lock them to the tie down points in the bed. I put some rubber hose over the chain to prevent it from chaffing on the rims.
