Humidity In Fog Lights

Just installed HIDs for Low Beams and Fog Lights on my '11 Sierra. After driving in the rain today, I got home and saw that both fog lights with humidity. The same issue occurred on my '08 Sierra and I ended up having to seal the housing with silicone but it was a mission to replace bulbs. Does anyone have advise or pictures on how to seal those light? Thanks.

I have HIDs in my fogs with no issues.I put a little dielectric grease on the o-ring before install.

all depends on your climate. if its humid where you live, its best to take the fog lights off the vehicle and take them inside, let them sit for a few minutes to adjust to the temp, and then change out the bulbs.

 

to get the condensation out completely, you need to remove the fog light housings, take them inside and use a hair dryer to dry them out again.

 

the dielectric grease is a good way to seal the bulbs to the housings.

I had another question on the connectors. The HID set I purchased had the 5202 bulb with connectors for the ballasts and 2 prongs to plug into the factory wiring harness. I had to grind them down with a dremel to fit because they were to fat. I've already had one disconnect because I was driving through some mud pretty fast. Any suggestions on securing that and keeping it dry?

I have that same prong set up to, just wrap them in electrical tape a couple times over. Mine havent come undone yet.

Mine are doing the same thing on my '11 Sierra. I'm also located down here in S Florida. Time to try out this method everyone else has tried and hopefully it solves the problem.

my 07 Sierra Denali had this issue. I ended up buying new bulbs and removed my fog lights to properly install them, no issues and i too live in south Florida.
