2007 Sierra Issue

OK...last week I purchased a 2007 ext. cab Sierra from a dealer. It has the 5.3 Vortec. On the paper in regards to the specs and options it stated: E85 capable. It had about a quarter of a tank of fuel in it. On the way home, I filled it up with ethanol. A couple days later a message came on to tighten the gas cap. I did this. The next day the check engine light came on. Went through the owners manual and it said could be loose gas cap, could be wet electrical system, could be radical change of fuel. So, I go to the fuel section and find out this particular truck is NOT E85 capable. It doesn't have the yellow gas cap, nor does the VIN verify this. I put in about a half of tank of regular unleaded. I have a couple of questions: What should be the dealer's responsibility with this? Secondly, do I need to basically run it down to empty, then fill up...before the check engine light resets? Thanks.....

I would just keep driving on the tank till you feel you want to fuel up again. Then add your 87 fuel back into it.

As for the dealer part, i dont know.
