Hello,..........I have a couple questions that I hope someone can help me with. First, what kind of fuel line disconnect tool do you need for removing the fuel lines from the top of the fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank on a 1998 GMC K1500 extended cab pick. I tried a couple different types with no luck. I cannot get both halves of the disconnect tool inside the fuel line fitting to depress the clips. There is not enough clearence to get both sides in, I can get one half in but not the other half. I busted off one of the plastic ports that the fuel line connects to trying to get it apart, know I have to buy a new pump and sending unit.

My next question is on how to get the pump / sending unit down into the tank to get the big c-clip on the hold it in place. I tried using o ring lube, wd-40, etc around the lip of the pump and on the o ring seal itself, just having a hard time to get it to seat far enough into the tank to get the clip on. What a pain in the butt.......any advice would sure be appreciated before I bust a brand new pump!!! Thanks

I used a BIC pen and made the tool I needed to get the lines unclipped without breaking anything... I don't remember having any issues putting the pump in. (mine was a 98 Yukon)
