03 2500hd Whipple Charger

Just purchased a used whipple charger for my 2003 2500hd. Whipple charger was taken off a wrecked truck. Worked great when taken off. I got all the parts needed for a stock install. I have heard many people talking about getting rid of the whipple electronics and simply upgrading the injectors. Is there anything else that the whipple electronics control besides the 2 additional fuel injectors they supply in the kit? Also I will need a tune on the truck when I get done. Is this something I can just remove my computer and send in, or is it something that I need to take the truck into a performance shop and have them tune the truck at their facility?

Do not run anything whipple gives you for fuel. Sell it all. Get a nice set of after market injectors (60# or higher depending on how much boost. Do not be scared to run injectors that are too big...your tuner...if he knows anything, will be able to get the truck to run like stock and get decent mileage). Talk to local tuners....every truck is different. Mail order tunes would be fine for stock trucks but with a forced induction set up...go custom that way the tuner can make adjustments as needed.

Well I ordered 43# injectors from what everyone else with this setup has told me. And I ordered a water/methane injection kit to hopefully keep the temps down since this kit does not offer an inner cooler. I plan to send my PCM to Westers for a tune. I have talked to them several times through email and they seem very familiar with the setup I will be running. I have also heard very good reviews about them from other people.
