Hvac Recalibration

my hvac went retarded after my battery died...and i plan on doing the recal tommrow(full the fuse and so on) and i just want to make sure i do it right...a few Qs...thanks in advance

 

1) does it matter what the temp and or vent settings are on?

 

2) what is the fuse number under the hood?

The fuse pull method did not work on my 2004. Yes, I pulled the correct fuses. I ended up disconnecting the battery for 2 minutes.

This is what I did:

Set the fan to off.

Temp setting to coldest, both sides.

Vent selection to the dash vents.

Disconnect battery for 2 minutes or so.

Reconnect battery

Turn the ignition key to the on position, not start.

Leave it on the "on" position for at least 2-3 minutes.

You will hear the the blend door move etc.

Turn to off

Start truck, everything should be normal.
