Projector Headlight/Options for broken headlight

Wife got in a minor accident in our 99 Silverado 1500 and I need to replace the drivers side headlight.  OEM composite headlights are spendy so I did a bit of looking around for something else and found a projector headlamp pair at less than a single OEM.  Anyone had any experience with these?  Any aftermarket variants out there of any worth?  TIA

Your insurance won't cover the replacement costs??  You didn't say what the cost of a replacement assembly is but you may want to look at the Sylvania HID system.  The Sylvania website is offering the Chevy truck upgrade kit (which includes new lamp housings) for $599.

Check it out at www.sylvania.com  and click on the Automotive Lighting tab

Hey, Whatever you do DON'T!!! buy projectors, they really suck (yes all brands). I had real HIDs in a set and the light output was worse that stock halogen. Check out the Sylvania option c4crusier posted, I have them now and love them. How much are you looking at spending for some factory headlights I may be able to get you some.

Body shop quote was $230 for the left(PS)  headlight.  Yes, insurance is paying.  I'll watch E-bay for someone who has taken theirs out for an upgrade.  Trying to save some of my $500 deductable.

Ive been lookin at these things on JPCustoms.com but suvlights are way cheaper.  They look so playa in person.  Totally rounds out the vehicle.  APC projectors are the most unfunctional pieces o crap that were ever produced.  Denali Projectors are still hands down the best.  My roomate wants to put HIDs in his Denali housings.  btw TahoeSS you got a link to some of your pics.  I'm makin a Tahoe SS of my own right now.  Tryin to get some ideas. Thanks

I wish they made a projector like the quality of the Denali projectors. They are definitely the best I've seen.

The Xenarcs are incredible. Now that the price is coming down, (remember the days of $900 HID's?) they are an excellent upgrade.

I've put a set in with one side as the stock headlight and the other as the Xenarcs and you wouldn't believe the difference.
