Steering "knocking" And Struts Squeaking ?

I have a 6" lifted 2010 GMC sierra ...

The truck was not properly aligned because - according to BDS - I had to cut the outer and inner rods and so I did.

Now its perfectly aligned. However, when ever I turn the steering wheel I can hear a weird sound... its really difficult how to explain the sound; it sound like a slight knocking. It started on only the left side and now its on both sides.... The truck steers well, but the sound is annoying !

In addition, both front struts started to squeak on bumps

and no I didn't hit a violent bump for them to squeak or "knock" :)

Could it be that when we cut the rods, the guys didn't reinstall it properly? or ist just a matter of lubing and greasing?
