1993 C1500 Rear Transmission Leak

The 2" (approx) diameter seal is leaking from the left/driver's side of the rear of the auto transmission. The plate with cable plug is held in by one 10mm bolt. Does this plate/seal pull straight out or is some turning required or some trick needed? I need to replace the leaking seal and have never done this type before. Don't want to break anything.

Thanks in advance

Ok, with a bit of looking around, this appears to be the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) for the electronic speedometer. I've seen a few different methods of getting it out, but none specifically for a 1993 2wd with 4.3L. Two instructions I saw said to gently pull the VSS straight out after removing the plug, bolt & clamp, but one mentioned that the VSS needed to be rotated to the left and then pulled out. I've ordered the replacement seal.

Anyone know for sure on this model? Thanks.

I spoke with a friend who is a Chevy tech and he recommended that I replace the VSS (comes with a new o-ring in place) instead of just replacing the old o-ring. From prices I found they ranged from about $25 with shipping to $45. My local AutoZone had one that that looked identical to the OE sensor so I got that one. The VSS just pulled straight out and went straignt back in.
