Pandora on Advent OGM-1

I was contacted by Randy D., one of the owners of an OGM-1 this week who surprised me by saying that he really enjoyed the ability to use Pandora on his iPhone on the Advent navi. I told him that as far as I knew, the unit was currently not capable of Pandora support, and I called BS.

Well, he sent me the photo showing Pandora on his iPhone, with full album art and data display:

So there you go, even before we get our next firmware update, iPhone users have Pandora support on their OGM-1's!

So it looks like the iPhone "tricks" the OGM1 in thinking it is receiving a stream from an iPod. Man, that is a good trick on the part of Pandora (I assume it was their idea).

I guess us droid users are SOL :/. A2DP is cool and all but having it work like that through ipod screen is excellent. Wish there was an ipod emulator for android but I am sure that would be a copyright infringement.

As a Droid guy myself, I'm running out of patience waiting for the Android OS to make a version that's stable enough for manufacturers to start wanting to make product for!

Nobody wants to make hardware for an open source platform that can change at any time...

If you are listening to Itunes, the OGM will default to that. You need to stop the Itunes and then start Pandora and it will load up. The only thing it won't let you do is advance a track.
