Picked up my new K2500 Sub (quick question)

I just picked up my '03 Dark grey metallic K2500 Sub LT with the 8.1L and 4.10 gears.  It has just about every option available except the moonroof.  I'm loving this engine, but I know the gas mileage is gonna be a killer.

One question though, mine came with the power extendable camper mirrors.  Very cool feature as I plan to buy a 27 foot trailer.  I notice that the passenger mirror is flat, not convex like normal.  I mean instead of the wide-angle mirror it is just a normal one.  This severely limits my view on that side when changing lanes.  Anybody else have these mirrors?  Is this the way it's supposed to be?  Seems kinda stupid to have to stick one of those little adhesive mirrors on my $50K Sub, but it feels dangerous currently.

Any advice?

My towing mirrors on my 2001 aren't power assisted like yours (although I really wish they were), but the passanger mirror is flat also.  The driver side has 2 mirrors in it, and it's OK but I had to add a little circular mirror to the passanger side, so that I could see well.

I had hoped the "General" would have seen it's forthcomings in the older style towing mirrors, but appearantly they didn't...    :wtf:

Personally I haven't checked out the power extendable towing mirrors on the new models, so I can't answer your question for sure, but it sounds like another oversight to me...

:wtf: Don't have any help with the mirror, you did exactly what I would have done.   How do you like the truck otherwise? I would love to trade My 97 in on one like yours!  I bet that 8.1 with 4.10's would pull like a locomotive! Burn about as much fuel too, but who cares!  Awesome truck.

Did you get the Allison tranny, or is it even available?

Good luck with MY dream truck!

So far the Sub is awesome.  The bottom end power of the 8.1 with 4.10's is insane.  I can't wait to tow with it.  The Allison tranny isn't available in the Sub.  Basically, I got the burliest Sub you can get and I'm glad I did.  I thought my '02 Z71 Tahoe was strong, but it was a whimpering baby when I put it behind a 27' travel trailer in the sand :wtf:  Also, the '03 has a lot of nice features that were not on the '02.

Well, the '03 power extending camper mirrors do NOT have the wide angle glass.  It is very annoying, especially since I had to pay for these optional mirrors.

I wish that you had that choice on all mirrors, I hate that saftey mirror so you can see things all around!  I have never had an accident with the flat mirror on any truck, but the one backing accident I had was because of those goofy mirrors.  Looking into the mirror it looked like I had about 4 inches before i hit a fence post.  To back a trailer I can do it either way but it is always best with out the convex mirror on it.
