Getting new wheels and tires - Could use recommendation

Hey All,

 

I haven't posted in a while and I'm finally to the point where I'm saving the money to do the things I want to my truck. I'm looking for wheels and tires for my truck. Here's the kicker; I'm currently working out of the country so I'm trying to do this all remotely and my wife is going to take it in to get everything put on. I'm currently running the OEM 20" chrome wheels. Unfortunately, I hit a rather sizeable pot hole not long ago and ruined one of them so rather than pay for an overpriced wheel I only somewhat like, I'd rather pay for the wheels I really want.

 

I'm currently looking at the American Outlaw Bunker wheels and the BFG TA K/Os. I've also considered dropping from the 20" wheels to the 18" wheels for a couple reasons.. 1) It saves me about a grand on the overall price, and 2) I'm planning to get a 4-6" lift later in the year and it seems a bit easier to find tires complimentary to a lift like that with the 18" wheels.

 

My question is this: Is there anything wrong in my thinking? Would anyone recommend I just go ahead and spend the money on the 20s? Is there another tire someone might suggest I look at? It's used mostly on road/highway, some offroad, and ice and snow at times.

 

Whatever I end up going with, I'd prefer not to have to do any trimming since again, I'm not there and I'm a bit protective of any cosmetic surgery happening on my truck without me there.

 

And as far as what I want in tires, I want some A/Ts that have good grip and look mean. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Look at kelly safari tsr they look almost just like the duratracs and are cheeper. try www.treadepot.com
