Engine surging 5.3

I have an 01 silverado with a 5.3.  When I am driving at about 55 RPM about 1500 with or without the Cruise engagged the engine RPM will fluctuate as much as a hundred RPM.  It is short duration and almost has a steady rythym.  

 

Has anyone else had this problem?

this should be normal...correct me if im wrong but the engine rpm fluctuates a little depending on the things drawing on the engine...alternator,AC compressor, etc
