hey guys I've been researching the OGM1 and all it can do

I 've talked to Walt and he was more than helpful and knowledgeable ill definately be buying my ogm1 through adc mobile

Anyway my mom purchased a truck back in 2011 used in Queens NY

the truck came with what i thought at the time a oem nav unit

to my surprise it's a OGM1. I was teaching my mom how to use it and syncing her bluetooth contacts.

i was on the fence about the parrot mic instead of the oem mic on top of my head and LET ME TELL YOU.. the parrot mic is SO great!

I had her sit in the back and when she talked it was crystal clear!

So i just wanted to make sure her OGM1 is up to date.

Here is a picture i took of the nav's info..

Yes, you will definitely want to update the firmware – the version you have installed is over two years old.

The way you can interpret the version of the firmware is to read the "MCU" line - you read this as a reverse date code. Here's how to read it:

"OGM1-59" is common to all OGM1's - this says that the firmware installed is for the OGM1

"11-7-21" tells us that the firmware version is July 21, 2011 - the current version is June 29, 2013.

If you decide to update the firmware, you can download it for free here. Follow the instructions on this page to the letter, and you should be able to update the unit within five minutes.

If you are using NavMate 5 software, this firmware update also adds compatibility so that you can purchase and install the iGo Primo mapping software, which is MUCH better than NavMate. If you are currently using iGo Primo mapping software, then you are good to go.

Here is what has changed with the newest firmware:

  • Corrects Condition of Pandora Not playing correctly from iPhone when using Navigation (iOs 6.1.x)
  • Addresses reports of RSE controls in some vehicles shutting off front audio when turned on.
  • Fixes reports of a popping sound at shut off in some vehicles.
  • Adds Pandora for iPhone support
  • Added compatibility with iGo Mapping Software – Purchased separately – Part# OEIGO1
  • Enhance Radio reception and sound quality
  • Added support for iPod Nano4 and Older Classic models for Autoplay – iPod music must first be activated on the Audio System screen when first connected but will Autoplay on further start ups as long as the device remains attached to the Audio system and was not manually stopped or shut off.
  • Enhanced XM tuner (CNP2000UCA) response time and Preset station retention
  • Includes Parrot Bluetooth update for iOS6 A2DP control fix (corrects Apple iOS issue with Forward and Reverse)

I have been bugging Advent for a list of firmware updates and changes to form a log, but they have not given me that information yet. I will try to retrieve it all at CES in Las Vegas the first week of January and post it so we can have a good idea of what changes have been made in each firmware that has been released.

Always backup your current data before downloading new stuff onto your SD card.

Hi, I recently decided to do the update and havenèt seen you forum prior to it, which I should of... i deleted the system files from the sd card and now i can't access my Navigation anymore. Is it possible for someone to send me the files via email so i can put it back on my SD? i canèt find the driver (system) anywhere for download and Audiovox won't send it to me in Canada... I really hope someone can help me out! Thanks!
