What makes the stock 4x4 sit higher?

Quick question.  I have had plenty of 2wd Chevys, but have never owned a 4x4. (Just no need)  But I think my 2002 sits a little low and would like to raise it just a little.  So how much do I have to change to get it the height of the stock 4x4?  Thanks.

I think the 2wds have coil springs and such up front whereas the 4wds have torsion bars and all that stuff. As to why 2wds set lower, I really dont know unless GM thinks 2wds dont need as much wheel clearance as 4wds. Also more 2wds might have the soft ride suspension which might make the rear set a little lower. There is nothing you can adjust on a 2wd to get it to the stock height of a 4wd, especially in the front, they're just not the same.

I am not sure about how to raise the front on the truck but I believe the difference in the rear are the 2" lift blocks that they put on the 4x4's.
