1996 GMC C3500 HEADLAMP SWITCH ISSUES

I have a '96 GMC C3500. A few nights ago while driving I heard and smelt a electrical burn coming from the headlamp switch. I lost my instrument panel lighting and all exterior lighting except the headlamps. I have replaced the switch and the 10 amp fuse in the dash for the instrument lights. Also checked all the fuses under the hood. I still do not have any exterior lamps except for the headlamps. Any ideas as to what this could be or what to check?
