carrier bearing noise? pinion bearing? axle bearing?

Ok guys and gals. Noob here. Bear with my spelling as I'm on a smart phone and auto correct sucks

Anyway. I have an 03 tahoe 1500 4wd (the push button type)

HISTORY : my wife came back from a long trip (1400 miles) and the next day she was starting off from a red light and said the car wouldn't go and like the e brake was on a bunch of noise then she went.(pretty much how she described it) then I drove it back home. Making a rumpus (clanking noise )

I raised the rear tires and put it in gear and this clanking noise was coming from the transfer case. Sounded like a sprocket broke, or chain slapping the case. But I could not hear a growl. slapped in a new transfercase. Clanking gone. However took it for a test drive sounded great till I hit 45-50 mph then I can hear a growling noise from 50-70 mph under Acceleration let off the pedal it stoPs. Tap gas. Noise comes Back. Under 50. Can't really hear anything just road noise. what bearing is it? Part 2 I can't tell if it's front or rear. I'm assuming it's rear because of the 4wd not being engaged but theses gm's still have the front axel spinning in 2Wd

My thoughts are rear carrier bearing Pinion would be a whine not a growl??

Could it be u joints? (my luck sucks so probably not )

Possbly front carrier bearings?

Thinking to remove the front drive shAft and taking for spin. dumb question, would the front carrier still make the growl or no?

Either way I'm tearing down something.

Sorry for the long poSt.

What are you expecting people here to say ?

Without audio it's just a BS conversation cuz no one here is gonna guess for you ,

Why won't you take it in to a shop ?

To many things to guess , I hope you understand ,, at least I don't guess for people here ... Costs to much when people are wrong , people are usually tapped out when they ask at an Internet site like this

Something's can't be diag'd online
