Superchardger for 6.0L

I am thinking about installing a supercharger on my 2500HD.  What would be the best kit to go with. I would like to know what kind of numbers you guys are turning out with your kits and what kinds of other mods are necessary to safely run the supercharger.

There are a couple kits for the 6.0.  The Whipple will work well with this application if you do towing since it uses a twin-screw compressor.  You will see a lot of power in the lower RPM range.  Then there is the MagnaCharger.  This MagnaCharger comes with an intercooler which is called the Radix system.  This too will give you more Power in the lower RPM range and at the same time help avoid detonation since the air is intercoooled.  Now Paxton has a wonderful kit which comes with an aftercooler.  This kit is great if your looking for some raw power.  I like the Paxton kit because it comes with the aftercooler which will help avoid detonation and it comes with a 3 year warranty.  Now a step down from the Paxton kit would be the Vortech.  This kit comes with a 3 year warranty, but this kit is non aftercooled.  So I guess it all depends on how you are going to be using it.  If you do towing stick with the Whipple or Magna Charger.  But if you are looking for more power or you want to race around go with the Paxton or Vortech.

I would like to make a distinction between the Whipple (screw compressor) and the MagnaCharger (roots blower).  The Whipple uses a twin screw compressor that has a much higher adiabatic efficiency than a roots type blower.  This means that the Whipple heats the air less in the process of compressing it, so the intercooler is not needed as much as with a roots type, particularly at the lower boost ranges run for daily drivers (below 8 lbs boost).  Any compression of air will cause it to heat, so in theory an intercooler is good for any type of blower, but remember, the intercooler adds restriction to the incoming air, requiring more boost to keep things moving through it, which heats the air more and takes more power to run the supercharger.
