Truck caught on fire

Well boys and girls my truck is offically scrap metal. Not sure what caused it but something started fire under the hood while i was driving home from the oil rigs tonight, 30 minutes later all that was left was the back half of the box. I had to stand there and watch my baby burn until the fire department came. Hopefully insurance will pay out what I owe on it. If I can get ahold of my buddies digital camera i'll post pics of the wreck.

Sorry to hear that.

A while back I saw a beautiful 87 or later chevy, well beautiful except the cab that was on fire. It was hard for me to see it while driving by. I couldn't imagine how the owner felt as he sat on his buddy's tailgate a few hundred feet away whatching it burn to the ground. I hope everything works out for you.

Well everyone seems to think it was something in the charging system, they think it was overcharging. When it happened I had my stereo cranked all the way up and my lights started to dim and then got super bright, the voltmeter was going nuts, up and down, I heard a pop from under the hood and then smoke started coming out. I popped the hood and the whole left side of the engine bay was on fire.
