towing a gooseneck and dozer

does anybody think a d-3 dozer (14,500#)and a 28'gooseneck trailer (6,800#) would be toooo much for a 8.1 allison crewcab dually also might pull a case 580l backhoe on the trailer would appreciate advise

That would be too much for it IMO you migh want to step up to a the GM medium duty line

For occasional use, not a problem. There's a guy where I live that pulls a Deere 210C Backhoe daily with a 98 3500 flatbed and he only has a 350 engine. The 8.1 should tow great, just watch out for panic stops.

My papaw pulls our 580 Case everyonce in awhile with his DMAX/ALLI K3500. It does alright but you definately know it's back there. I wouldn't do it all the time IMO. If you were going to deal with these weights everyday step up to a 4500 at least I would go with a 6500 or a Lopro depending how much you plan on pulling that load and in what terrian..
