Subwoofers for extended cab

I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 extended cab. It has the Bose system but I'm trying to upgrade the subwoofer in it. This is what I had in mind

 

Either

2 ported 8's

2 sealed 10's or shallow mount 12's

1 very good quality 10 or 12 in a ported box

 

For the 8's I was thinking sundown sa

For the 10's I was thinking alpine type s

For the 12 I was thinking a major brand shallow mount or a l7 if I can get the right box.

 

Does anybody have any of these configurations? What would sound the best and give me the most bass? I listen to mostly hip hop and electronic. I am replacing the head unit with a double din pioneer and planned on keeping the stock Bose door speakers for now.

Well I just joined and am an audiophile... it really depends on what you are looking for... I am personally a huge fan of 2 10" subs in a sealed box... it is what I ran up until recently (had a single 12" Alpine Type-R previously and a 12" Treo TSX before that)

 

Type S's are great but somewhat deep, have you also looked into JL and their similarly priced stuff? Kickers new line that came out a few weeks back is promising..

 

L7 is something I would personally only go with if you are looking for extremely loud, plus verify it will even fit, they are giant.

 

But with the music focus being hip hop and electronica I would recommend a decent sub ported. Alpine type-R if it will fit, brand new Kicker CompR or CompVR..

 

if you are truly looking for something fantastic you could look into a Hertz Woofer. they are simply glorious but pricy.
