I've heard some scary things about downloading music and catching viruses and spyware but I thought I'd try it anyway. Who can tell me some good sites and how much does it cost? Thanks!

I use WinMX, I found that Kazzaa you get to many crappy files and to many viruses. Although I guess you take that chance with any downloading program.

I use Kazaa and I always make sure Norton 2003 is running strong. Never had any real problems

If you are going to use Kazaa, you will get a lot of spyware.

Use Kazaa Lite, it uses the same interface, and connects to the same user base. Just no spyware. Not to mention you get some cool "Kazaa cheats".

If you are downloading any programs, always run Spybot or Adaware after installing it. They will find most if not all, spyware.

And always keep your anti-virus software up-to-date.

Hope this helps.

I liked WinMX alot but it got firewalled here on my campus. THen I got Kazaa Lite and I loved it it, it was awesome. But it has been firewalled here now too. I'd go with Kazaa Lite.

I use Kazaa Lite...prevent viruses and spyware with Norton and AdAware.

So far I have downloaded over 400 music files and have yet to get a virus.

I have a couple of thousand files out there, and have yet to get a virus.

I do get a lot more port scans when I have Kazaa-lite running though...Don't know why.
