dash light stays on when truck is off

Hello I bought a 1995 Chevy 4 by 4 half ton

but the dash lights stay on and don't turn off at all after u turn off truck..

what can it be???

in 1995 they redid the interior, so it would depend on whether tou have the older (no airbag) interior or the newer (airbags) interior. assuming its the newer one, it has a knob you turn to point at the desired light setting (running lights, headlights, off) the switch might be faulty. or the wiring might be screwed up and it might be shorting causing power to reach the dash lights. good luck!
